    Collaborations

Burning Day Creations partners with independent artists to translate original artwork into stained glass. Through collaborative commissions, paintings, illustrations, and designs are reinterpreted using glass and light - preserving the integrity of the original work while exploring a new medium.

Collaborations are commission-based or gallery-focused, not mass-produced or commercial licensing arrangements. Each project is approached as a shared creative effort, with clear communication, proper attribution, and respect for authorship at every stage.

    Who This Collaboration Is For

    We welcome collaboration inquiries from:

    • Painters
    • Illustrators
    • Designers
    • Visual artists working in 2D or concept-driven media
    • Artists seeking to adapt an existing work into stained glass or mosaic

    Collaborations may be initiated by:

    • Artist-led concepts
    • Shared client commissions
    • Gallery or exhibition-driven projects

Speculative concepts — artist-initiated ideas without a confirmed client — are welcome for consideration.

    What a Collaboration Looks Like

Each collaboration is structured around translation, not replication.

Original artwork serves as the conceptual foundation, while material, scale, and technical considerations guide the transformation into stained glass. Design decisions are discussed collaboratively to ensure the final piece honors the original intent while functioning successfully in its new medium.

    Projects may include:

    • Custom stained glass panels
    • Architectural or site-specific works
    • One-of-a-kind commissioned pieces (in window or backlit / wall hung)
    • Limited-run pieces (considered on a case-by-case basis)

      Roles & Responsibilities

      The Original Artist

      • Retains authorship of the original artwork
      • Provides reference images, files, or concepts
      • Participates in design discussion as needed
      • Is credited appropriately in all presentations of the work

      Burning Day Creations

      • Oversees material translation, fabrication, and technical execution
      • Manages glass selection, structural considerations, and build process
      • Coordinates fabrication timelines and installation logistics when applicable
      • Ensures proper credit is maintained for all collaborators

All collaborative projects are treated as team efforts, not sole-author works.

Collaborative works may be shown in portfolios, galleries, or documentation with full attribution to all parties involved.
